The London Spitfire announced Thursday that the organization has released its entire roster and coaching staff. Today’s news confirms The esports Observer’s previous reporting that Spitfire would release its players and coaching staff. The releases look to be a shift in roster strategy from signing the best available free agents from year-to-year to creating an internal ecosystem where the Spitfire can develop talent within in ranks which more easily identify with the London esports consumer, the last being very important to partnership and sponsor signings.

Now confirmed, the Spitfire will be starting fresh from the very beginning of this new strategy as the organization attempts to identify and sign talent for the upcoming season. The Overwatch League Grand Finals concluded last week with the San Francisco Shock becoming the league’s first back-to-back world champions.
